Teens& Young adults
Within the Childhood Tumour Trust are groups called CTT teens and CTT Young adults
supporting those effected by NF1 aged 13-30. The aim of the groups are to increase
confidence and independence whilst making friends who are a similar age.
What we do:

coca house for a chocolate lollipop and hot chocolate workshop!
– Camps for both 12-17yr olds and 18-30yr olds. Camp is based at PGL Boreatton Park for 12-
17s, and for 18-30s we have been to centre parcs and YAHA.
– We have Facebook groups to allow teens and young adults to connect, support and make
new friends. CTT Teens, CTT Young adults 18-30.
Opportunities
Occasionally, opportunities arise for young people to attend events across the world. In
August 2022 a group of 15 young people had the incredible opportunity to go to NYC to
attend the Youth NF1 summit to learn more about their condition how to better advocate
for themselves and others with NF1.
Recently a new group called the Youth Advisory Group (YAG) was created and will have its
official launch in 2023. This group will give young people the chance to share their
thoughts/opinions on NF care and how it could be improved or what’s going well, hear new
research, what they would like to see within the charity and more.
